Legal effect rests on CargoX's Special Terms and Conditions for eBLs, a user agreement accepted by the issuing user and each subsequent user; version 1, dated 10 February 2020, is governed by English law. The International Group of P&I Clubs lists it as an approved system, and on 4 June 2026 DCSA named it among five platforms that had implemented the DCSA Standard Annex for eBL Platform Interoperability v.2.
