DCSA PINT (Platform Interoperability)
DCSA PINT (Platform Interoperability) is DCSA's API standard that lets one eBL platform transfer a DCSA-compliant electronic bill of lading, with supporting documents, to a user on another platform.

PINT is the technical part of the Digital Container Shipping Association's eBL interoperability framework. DCSA describes the PINT API as a standardised integration between eBL solution providers that transfers DCSA standards-compliant eBLs together with additional documentation. It works alongside a legal framework (the Multilateral Service Provider Interoperability Agreement and the Standard Annex) and the Control Tracking Registry (CTR), which records which platform controls each interoperable eBL.
In DCSA's description, each user is given a unique identifier on its platform. To transfer, the sending platform wraps the eBL in an "eBL envelope", sends it through the PINT API and updates the CTR. A receiver validation endpoint checks the recipient's party code first, and the receiving platform rejects transfers to unrecognised parties. DCSA says the framework relies on non-repudiation, for example public/private key signing.
On 15 May 2025 DCSA announced what it called a first standards-based interoperable eBL transaction, involving carrier HMM and shipper Suzano. On 4 June 2026 it announced that five platforms had implemented Standard Annex v.2 with International Group of P&I Clubs approval. DCSA calls PINT the technical layer and the Standard Annex the legal foundation for transactions between users of different platforms.
